LEADER-IN-TRAINING (LIT)

The Leader in Training (LIT) Program is designed to help young people in the growth of their 21st Century Skills, preparing them for life beyond high school. Camp Stella Maris believes that young people, given the right encouragement, tools, and opportunities, are a powerful resource for bringing innovation and positive influence to our communities and the lives of others.

The LIT program aligns with college and career readiness skills and focuses on communication, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity. CSM is driven to support teens in their development of these much-needed skills through a fun, engaging, and inclusive experience at summer camp.
At the culmination of their session, LITs will have earned 30 volunteer hours.

TWO-WEEK SESSIONS   $1250
($1250/cash, check, debit, EFT; $1287.50/credit card)

LIT 1 – June 29-July 5 & July 6- July 11 (B & C weeks)
LIT 2 – July 13 – July 19 & July 20- July 25 (D & E weeks)
LIT 3 – Jul 27-Aug 2 & Aug 3-Aug 8 (F & G weeks)
LIT 4 – Aug 10-Aug 16 & Aug 17-Aug 22 (H & I weeks)
*All campers will go home in between their 2-week session.

Process to apply for the LIT Program

-Parent/Guardian- Register for the “LIT Enrollment Process” (you do not choose a session, but do pay a $75 deposit)
-Camper (participant)- Complete the Leadership Application, including TWO letters of recommendation.

Once applicants have completed the leadership application, registered for the LIT enrollment process, and we have received the two letters of recommendation, camp staff will review all applications received and campers will be registered for an LIT session. Campers will then be notified of their session.

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT)
16 and 17 YEAR OLDS

The Counselor-in-Training program combines the fun of camp with leadership and on-the-job training. The CIT program is a unique opportunity for motivated young people to develop the necessary skills to be role models in our camp community. CIT campers stay for two weeks, learning the ropes of living and serving at CSM.
The first week is focused on creating successful peer relationships, developing skills that are needed to work in our camp environment, and discovering personal gifts and strengths.
During week two, CIT campers will have the opportunity to use their strengths in a cabin, at day camp, or in the kitchen, gaining hands-on experience and a glimpse into being a CSM staff member.

TEEN LEADERSHIP CAMP (TLC) WEEKENDS
14-16-YEAR-OLDS

Camp Stella Maris’ Leadership Camps are about giving teens an opportunity to learn more about themselves, their leadership style, and what it takes to become a leader in school, on teams, and in communities. CSM’s experienced and enthusiastic staff will lead this self-discovery through an interactive, unique, and fun environment.

Together teens will develop the much needed skills of problem-solving, communication, conflict resolution, and positive self-confidence needed to succeed in today’s world. Our four leadership weekends throughout the year will provide young people with opportunities to grow intrinsically, grow as a community, network and connect with business owners and leaders in our communities, and cultivate their toolbox to take on their future.
